Suppose you have made the WhatsApp backup at 7:34 AM and by mistakenly you have deleted the messages or any other data(which has been backed up not new messages) at 8 AM then this method will useful for you.
For this, you need to uninstall your WhatsApp and then reinstall it.
Step 1: First of all, launch your WhatsApp to restore your WhatsApp chats.
Step 2: A screen will appear in which you have to tap on Agree And Continue to proceed for the next step.
Step 3: Enter the mobile number for which you want to restores your WhatsApp chats.
Step 4: Now in this step, you need to verify your entered mobile number. If it wrong you can tap on edit to correct the mobile number.
Step 5: After that, a verification process is started in which an OTP is sent to the entered mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your mobile number and proceed to the next step.

Things To Remember Before Following This Method
There is some important point you need to know before following this method. as this will also play a major role for you.
- You must have a WhatsApp backup to restore. if you have never made a backup then this method is not useful.
- If you miss restoring your backup, then again you need to uninstall your WhatsApp and follow the above steps.
- It allows us to recover all chats and media present in the backup. You cannot recover a particular data like the WhatsApp export chat feature.
- Don’t try to make a new backup. As this will overwrite the deleted messages. if you have done this then you need to follow method 2.
Method 2: Restoring A Less Recent Backup(From Local Backup)
This is the other methods to recover your WhatsApp messages from local backups on your phone. Yes, you read correctly there is a backup file on your phone. This method is helpful when you have not connected your Google Drive to WhatsApp for backup purpose, then you can use your local backup which is stored on your phone to recover your messages and media.
This method is useful when your Google Drive backup has overwritten the messages.
Step 1: First launch your file manager and tap on internal storage. If you don’t have any fie manager then you download it from the play store.
Step 2: Now scroll down and check for the WhatsApp folder and open it.
Step 3: After this, you can see the database folder open it.
Step 4: This is a very important step, you need to rename the file msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12 to msgstore.db.crypt12. Now follow the method 1 to uninstall and then reinstall your WhatsApp.
Step 5: You can see there is an option to restore your chats. Tap on restore import your old chats from your local backup.
Note: Luckily all WhatsApp messages and media are safely stored in Google Drive every day at 2 A.M. Also, you can back up your WhatsApp chats and media to Google Drive manually at any time. It is the best and simple way from which you can recover your deleted message, images, videos and any other data from WhatsApp. If you can ask the receiver to send that particular message, images & videos so it will be the easiest method to recover any data.
Mainly it is helpful when you have to use the option Delete For Me, as the messages are deleted from your side only not from the receiver side. So, you can ask them to send it. But in some situations, you are not able to do this.
